Heart Warmer Turmeric Ginger Botanical Blend is an organic blend of Nepalese turmeric root and ginger root.  Turmeric and ginger warm the heart by opening blood vessels and increasing blood circulation.

Using ingredients that have been part of Ayurvedic medicine (the still-practiced Ancient Indian system of natural healing) since around 500 BCE, this blend of turmeric and ginger is not only delicious, but also reduces pain and inflammation in the body, induces better sleep, and decreases depression.

Turmeric's presence is seen all throughout India and Nepal.  Turmeric is associated with the Lord Krishna.  It is also used to dye fabric and garments.  Turmeric-dyed sashes are worn around the neck on wedding days throughout the region.  During the pre-wedding Haldi Ritual, turmeric paste is applied to the engaged couple to cleanse and purify the skin.  A custom called Ritual of Happiness, or Talambralu, is performed at the wedding's end, where the newly married couple shower each other with a mixture of rice, turmeric, saffron and pearls.

Heart Warmer Turmeric Ginger can be enjoyed warm or cold, as a latte, a lemonade, or a hangover cure.  Prepare ginger lemonade ayurvedic tonic by simmering the blend on the stovetop in a saucepan.  Just before boiling, squeeze a lemon and simmer the peels in the tonic.  Sweeten with honey.  This can also be cold-brewed overnight in the refrigerator and enjoyed the next day.  See Brewing Recommendation.
